What Others Are Saying

Christina's Story

For many years I have had a few allergies but it has gradually been getting worse and worse. It started with oranges and anti-biotics but grew to a list of items as long as my arm! (Most of them quite healthy too!)

Finally after my Mum passed away (I had been looking after her for 14 years and this probably gave me some stresses too). My body really couldn't hut anymore. I felt unhappy, tearful and generally unwell. I still ate some of the foods and suffered the consequences. The consequences kept getting more upsetting and the reactions happened within 10-30 minutes of eating some things.

I went to the Alfred with my list of foods etc. that I knew I was intolerant of, but they just wanted me to come off nearly all food and do more testing (time consuming and none of which would be pleasant). In my stressed state I couldn't cope with any of this. Thankfully fmy neice had visited Emma with great success so I took the big step of going to her clinic for help.

When I first went to Emma, I wasn't sure that anyone could help me but she demonstrated confidence and I was prepared to give anything a go as I was really down in the dumps. She understood my inability to cut everything out and worked around my issues to help me build up my immune system and detox my liver. Funnily enough over time, as I started feeling better, I was able to give up most of the things that I couldn't really eat. However, this happened in a gradual manner and with the help of feeling better in myself. THe biggest breakthrough was when we isolated one of the main problems - preservatives! Sometimes my face would be so blotchy after preservatives. Once this was isolated, the results were quick.

Over the main treatment time, I have taken the medications that Emma has recommended although now I only need to take them sometimes. Two are a funny black liquid that has natural herbs to bolster my immune system and a liquid zinc supplement. Apart from these, I avoid the tricky foods for me. Well at least for the most part! Now I can eat some of these things. Where the reaction used to be minutes, it is now hours or even days before any issues.

With my lifestyle, I was lucky that when I came to Emma, I already swam regularly (sometimes 2 km a day) and participated in aqua aerobics at least 4 x a week (on holidaysup to 10!). I sometimes walked but with being quite overweight, these exercises were less stressful to my body. That meant there was a healthy part of my lifestyle. I still keep up regular exercise and have incorporated a vegetable and fruit juicing regime that makes me feel even better. My juice is made up of celery, carrot, cucumber, ginger, garlic, beetroot and two fruits (usually an apple, pear or kiwi fruit).

I feel so much better now! I am still a little emotional sometimes especially about my Mum but I am coping and I am happier. I feel my energy has improved and that I am a bit more in charge of my life. When your body is out of whack, one cannot cope with everyday things, with stress and with harder things. This is where the change is for me. I work so life is stressful but I can cope and I am starting to enjoy work again.

I am jsut grateful that Emma has been able to help me where others could not. Doctors really treat the reactions but not really the why it is happening. After the liver detox, I could feel the difference. It has taken nearly two years to feel this good but that was because I had to do it slowly for me. Other might have coped quicker. Still, it has been worth it in the end!

Kylie's Story

I first went to the clinic to get help with my headaches and migraines.  This had been happening for about 4 years.  The headaches occurred often but were definitely worse before my period. My GP suggested I go on the pill and use nurofen plus to control the pain. When I was on the pill in the past, I put on a lot of weight so I didn't think this would be the answer for me. I felt disillusioned, depressed and had no energy.

A friend of mine had seen Emma and had good results so I thought I would give the clinic a try. My experience hs been fantastic.

Emma tested my hormones, my urine and my zinc levels and started me on some herbal medicine. It took a while to get used to the tast of the tonic (yuk!)but the tablets were easy to take. Emma also helped me to change my diet which I think has helped a lot.

My health hs improved out of sight since I started seeing Emma. It has now been about 4 months and my headaches have stopped completely. I feel more energetic and have started exercising again. This makes me feel happy. I am so glad to have found a solution for my headaches.

If you are wondering whether to try herbal medicine or see the naturopaths at the clinic I say go for it! Emma has helped me a lot and given me so much support.

Cathy's Story

Dear Tory, It was a great privilige meeting you 9 months ago as my Naturopath. Your treatments over these months have improved my health, state of mind, as well as weight loss to a great extent.  I was deeply touched by your sincere concern over my progress, as I'm sure, it was with every other client who was fortuneate enough to have you as there Naturopath.

I am towards the end of my journey to recovery but still feel I need your support (as I will always do), your patience and understanding is simply overwhelming, and for that I thank you. Somehow, in a weird way, I feel that you are a very special angel who was sent to me for a purpose, you made sure I took the right remedies, you you made me feel I had my confience and self-esteem back, and you made sure that I took your advice withy regards to other referral appointments - and for that I am deeply grateful.

Thank you Tory for all your care and most of all, your friendship. God Bless.

Rebecca's Story

I am so grateful to have found Emma and the clinic. I am no longer using a nasal spray (parescription drug) that I was everyday before my treatment, my breathing is much clearer and deeper. I feel happier and more optimistic.

I have a long history of allergies and asthma symptoms. The symptoms could sometimes be very severe; some occasions I felt I was allergic to everything.I felt lethargic, depressed, constantly blocked in my nose. In daily life I often felt irritated, tired and generally run-down.

From attending the clinic it was established that I am allergic to sulfites (a food prerservative used in many foods). I changed my diet so as I am a lot less exposed to sulfites. This means a more organic choice of foods, wines, teas etc. I feel very good about all medications prescribed at the clinic, which is zinc and liquid tinctures and medication to support the immune system.

I have felt a thousand times better since visiting the clinic and using my new treatment which is all natural based. My allergies have cleared, I am not constantly blowing my nose and my energy levels are a great deal higher. I feel healthy.

Charlene's Story

I had adult acne, was always feeling tired and listless, had trouble with my menstrual cycle, severe haemorrhaging and pain as well as serious prer-menstrual tension. The acne has been a long battle since puberty. I hated the acne - it affected my social life. I did not want to go out and it depressed me.

Attending the clinic has been a worthwhile life changing experience. I'm a RN Div 1 Nurse and believe in alternate medicine. I have made significant changes to my diet and lifestyle with the assistance of my wonderful Naturopath who prescibed me various medications and even though some of them (the liquids) weren't that "soft" on the palate but the main thing is, they worked!!! I was prepared to try anything!!

Oh wow, I now keep getting so many compliements about how amazing my skin looks. I've lost weight and feel energized. I haven't needed to see my GP fo any of my ailments since I commenced on these natural medications.

I would definitely advise anyone to give it a go, you will not be disappointed. I have encouraged my daughter who who also has acne and bouts of unexplained abdominal pain to attend this clinic.

Robyn's Story

Hello. My name is Robyn. I'm 51 years old. I have been a patient of Emma Stimpson since the 29th of July, 2010. I contacted Emma as she specialises in Balancing Your Hormones. I was looking for an alternative to assist me with my journey through Menopause.

1. How did I feel before my treatment?

No energy, lethargic, moody, anxiety, had constant hot flushes, bloated feeling, just wasn't myself? Weight gain etc.

2. Why have you continued with treatment?

After we had received the diagnosis test back, I started the treatment to suit my needs, started to see a change in three weeks of taking alternative medicine.

3. How do you feel now?

Words cannot describe. Energy levels much higher, hormonal mood swings improved, anxiety levels are low, hot flushes very rare. I feel I have that beast called Menopause under control.

4. What has your experience been like?
I would like to take the opportunity to Thank Emma for her knowledge, Treatment, with her experience and manner to advise any situation. I have regained my energy and feel like myself again just in 4 months. Very enjoyable and would strongly recommend visiting Emma Stimpson just like I did.

Gayle's Story

"I was HOT, I was BLOATED, I was FAT and I was CRANKY"

I was "HOT", I was "BLOATED", I was "FAT", I was "CRANKY".  I had been in this state for well over a year.  I had been diagnosed as "Peri-menopausal" by my Doctor.  Obviously my hormones were having a party and I wasn't invited.  All these things combined were affecting my ability to be the happy, go-lucky person that I used to be, and hoped, could again be one day.

I had been living in a hot place for a long time, it was getting worse, and for the last few months I was constantly there with no let up.  It had made me feel nauseous, dizzy, unable to sleep, and justgenerally feeling very unwell.

At this time I had also been experiencing being bloated, regardless of what exercise I did or food I ate.  Part of this was suffering constantly from reflux and indigestion.

Slowly over the last few years with all the above going on I was also constantly gaining weight.  It didn't matter if I was living on the smell of a lettuce leaf, or gutsing myself, it was a very slow gradual weight gain  and nothing I did seemed to help.  At this time I was a member of T.O.W.N.  Club of Tootgarook, trying to control my weight gain, as this was an area of my being that I hated.  Then one night at the club we were having a guest speaker, in walked Emma Stimpson, Naturopath.

Emma introduced and explained a little about herself and what she does, and how she could help.  Within 30 seconds of listening to Emma, I was wanting to make an appointment.  This was to be a turning point for me.

A couple of very simple tests to begin with, nothing obstrusive, then on to some natural medicines.  These I found very interesting, some easy to swallow, some not so easy to swallow!!! Followed by some very easy and basic changes to my eating habits.

Within two weeks of my first visit, I was no longer feeling hot constantly, within approximately a month, my heat issues were over.  At this same time, I started to feel happier within myself, and found I could deal with things a lot easier, and didn't have that cranky feeling with me all the time.  At about 8 weeks I noticed that all my bloating issues were gone also.  At this point I am very slowly losing weight.  I figure it took a long time to put on, so it will take a long time to take off.  My goal is to lose weight and that will be a work in progress.

I have been under the influence of Emma now for three months, and feel fantastic.  Everything I was suffering has now changed.

I am no longer "HOT", "BLOATED", "CANKY", still a little "FAT", however i know that will change.  I feel "FANTASTIC" and am again loving life.  I am definitely back to the happy go-lucky person that I was a few years back, all thanks to Emma Stimpson, her wonderful manner and diagnosis of my issues.

Michelle's Story

"My continued THANKS go to Emma Stimpson

At the age of 45 I started getting migraine headaches, stomach cramps, mood swings plus feelings of illness and sight issues prior to my periods.  This had been happening for about six months before I consulted with naturopath Emma Stimpson.

Emma explained to me that I was peri-menopausal and that a hormonal imbalance was causing my headaches.  She prescribed herbal medicine to balance my hormones and the results were much quicker than I expected.  My headaches were less severe at my next period and over the next three months of taking the herbal medicine, my headaches and other symptoms reduced significantly.  After six months of the treatment i was able to stop takinig the medication completely as I no longer had any of the above mentioned issues prior to my period.

While I was seeing Emma, I decided to also discuss another long term issue I had been having.  I suffered from extreme pain in my knees which had been diagnosed as 'a bit of arthritis' by my doctor.  I was taking a couple of 'commercially branded' nutritional supplements to assist.  After discussing the ype of pain I was feeling Emma recommended some different herbal and nutritional supplements.  These supplements definitely helped my joint pain.  I still take these supplements to this day, I still have pain but these  supplements reduce that pain.

I cintinue to see Emma when I have any health concerns and would definitely recommend her to family and friends.  Emma is easy to talk to with a nurturing demeanour and her knowledge and professionalism is second to none.  Thank you Emma."
